The Essential Parts of a Recipe

Every recipe follows the same basic layout, but there can be as many as 12 parts or more. Here are a few. Note the bolded ones - these are the essential parts.

1.   Title
2.   Yield (how many servings)
3.   Ingredients (amounts of food products)
4.   Measurements (cups, teaspoons, tablespoons)
5.   Cooking method (oven or stove, grill, no bake)

6.   Container (to cook /serve)
7.   Directions on how to combine or assemble (mixing method)
8.   Cooking temperatures and times
10. How the ingredients should be prepped (sliced, diced, chopped, etc.)
11. Any special instructions/options

12. Nutritional analysis (optional)
